On a FREEZING afternoon right after Christmas, Amy & Adam met us downtown in Roanoke VA for their engagement session! You guys. When I tell you that we laughed until we cried - I mean it. These two are SO much fun and we knew instantly that although they are clients now … they will be friends of ours forever. Talk about a job perk - am I right?
When we were planning the session I asked Amy what their vibe was. Sometimes this is tricky for couples to decide on and most importantly - agree on. I offer many options to each couple we work with. but usually I ask right away whether they prefer an urban area or a location in nature. That helps narrow down the recommendations I provide. Almost instantly both Amy & Adam said “urban” with no questions asked. Downtown Roanoke was perfect for these two since they lived here together and frequent here for date nights even still. We popped around to many spots and we loved creating magic in their city!
I do not think there was a street or an alleyway that was left untouched by us!
Since these two lovebirds lived in Roanoke by Big Lick Brewing Co we obviously had to stop there for some photos! I have always wanted to make a GIF so we had Adam pull Amy in for a kiss here and … voilà! We do wish that BL was open. They have the tastiest brews!
Since Big Lick was closed and we needed a break for both an outfit change & to warm up - we stopped at Mill Mountain Coffee for some steamy kisses … I mean coffee! These two sat inside while we froze outside but it was SO worth it because we love these shots we got. This was unplanned you guys - I mean it when I say TRUST your photographers vision!
Final Stop - The Penthouse at Center in the Square! These two are lucky because they get to tie the knot here in August of this year! Looking forward to these views again this summer is a huge understatement. We were lucky enough to catch this amazing sunset, too.
The winter glow is stunning but the summer glow will be unmatched. Another plus is that we will not be freezing in under 20 degree weather. It was so sweet to be here with Amy & Adam as they shared their first few kisses of very many to come on this stunning rooftop.
As we wrapped up the session the moon was very large and so full - and the birds were flying high in the sky. The perfect ending to the perfect session with a truly perfect couple.
